“Don’t Worry, Bead Happy”

Relaxation can come in many forms. When I need to relax, I don’t do yoga, watch TV, or read a book… I go to the bead store! As a form of retail therapy, I peruse through the beads, gems, and chains to inspire my jewelry designs.

I think it is very important to do what you love and love what you do. I am fortunate enough to have a job that I absolutely love. When I create new pieces I feel a sense of accomplishment. I am able to combine my love of jewelry, my creativity, and my sense of self within my designs. Whether I walk into a store with a design in mind, or walk in not knowing what I want to get, I always leave with a bag full of jewels and a smile on my face.

Since I am no longer a full-time teacher, I had to find a new place to call my own. The jewelry store has become my new classroom. All teachers know how important a classroom can be to both the students and to the teacher. When I walk into the bead store I get the same feeling that I used to get when I walked into my classroom; it is my second home.

Whether you are spending your paycheck at the mall, reading this week’s best seller, or “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” on Sunday nights, it is extremely important to have a way to relax that works best for you. As the sign outside the bead store always reminds me, “DON’T WORRY, BEAD HAPPY!” I couldn’t have said it better myself!

  1. This design is wicked! You definitely know how to keep a reader entertained. Between your wit and your videos, I was almost moved to start my own blog (well, almost…HaHa!) Wonderful job. I really enjoyed what you had to say, and more than that, how you presented it. Too cool!
